YWETS Campus Series - “I.T. Seeds” Project and
“E-leader” Training Programme 2008/09

Trainees of Youth Work Experience and Training Scheme (YWETS) / Interested young people are invited to join the “I.T. Seeds” Project and “E-leader” Training Programme 2008/09! Enrollment exercise will commence on 10 July 2008.

Details as below:

1. August 8 – 10, 2008
First-round interview
(Applicants can select either one of the below venues for the first round interview)
Time : 9:00am – 1:00pm &
2:00pm – 5:00pm
Venue 1 : Hall of Pui Ching Education Centre
Address：42 Gascoigne Road, Kowloon, neighbouring South Kowloon Magistracy, Methodist College
[Pui Ching Education Centre can be accessed by any public transport passing by Nathan Road towards Tsim Sha Tsui or MTR (Jordan Station Exit B2)]


Venue 2 : Baptist Wing Lung Secondary School
Address: 6A Ho Hing Circuit, Tuen Mun, N.T., neighbouring Light Rail Choi Yee Bridge Station [Baptist Wing Lung Secondary School can be accessed by any public transport passing by Tai Hing Bus Terminus or Shei Pai Tau Road]


Qualification Requirements :
  1. Hong Kong Identity Card Holders
  2. Age: 15 – 24
  3. Form 5 or above AND non-degree holders
Note : Please bring along:
  1. Hong Kong Identity Card (with valid travel document for non-permanent residents to prove the lawful employability in Hong Kong)
  2. Recent school academic reports / academic slips, certificates and any other qualification proof; both originals and copies required
    (For “E-leader” Training Programme, applicants MUST have completed any one of the five training projects under the “I.T. Seeds” Project and obtained the relevant Certificate.)
  3. Originals and copies of resume and proof of work experiences (if any)

Project Details

YWETS Campus Series – “I.T. Seeds” Project and
“E-leader” Training Programme 2008/09

YWETS Campus Series - “I.T. Seeds” Project and “E-leader” Training Programme 2008/09, jointly organized by YWETS of the Labour Department and the Pui Ching Education Centre with the supports of eight local School Councils / Associations, are now offering training and employment opportunities at schools to young people. All qualified applicants are invited to register by calling our Youth Employment Service Hotline at 2112 9932 / trainee hotline at 2382 1310 or Pui Ching Education Centre enquiry hotline at 2332 6611.

Participating schools (Employers) will offer 12-month on-the-job training to trainees. Trainees are required to work five and a half days a week, while one day of which will be granted as paid training leave for trainees to attend job-related certificate courses. The courses are provided by the Pui Ching Education Centre and last for 12 months (a total of 360 hours). Course fees are settled by employers. All trainees who complete the course and on-the-job training will receive a certificate certifying the training period as well as the skills / qualifications attained.

Basic monthly salaries for “I.T. Seeds” trainee and “E-leader” trainee in 2008/09 are $5,250 and $5,750 respectively. Employers may offer other benefits and allowance or higher salaries to trainees whenever appropriate.

Off-the-job Vocational Training Courses

During the period of on-the-job training, trainees may enroll in relevant vocational courses on part-time basis. Subject to the achievement of 90% attendance or passing relevant examination, trainees may reimburse course and examination fees up to $4,000 under YWETS.
